Winemaker’s comments
A refined and elegantly structured Merlot with layers of rich, supple berry fruit flavours hints of mocha chocolate complemented by fine tannins. The wine is an ideal accompaniment to rich, full flavoured meat dishes.

Vinification Details
Selected from best part of the vineyard, fermented with yeast in open tanks at 29°C plus 3 weeks of skin contact after the fermentation.

300 litre French oak barrels of which 40 % was new, 40% second fill and 20% third fill.

Selected barrels during June 2004 – no fining, only coarse filtration.
